Refugee tent demonstration Utrecht

WHAT
15 november 2020 1:00 Neude, Utrecht
Protest van een coalitie organisaties die opkomen voor de rechten van vluchtelingen tegen het onmenselijke Europese vluchtelingenbeleid.

The Neude will be transformed into a (refugee) camp for 24 hours from Sunday the 15th of November 13.00 until Monday the 16th of November 13.00.
A camp where you can show your solidarity with the refugees in Greece and all over Europe. Say NO to the “new” Pact and join us in our protests all over Europe.

WHY
Almost two months ago the overcrowded Moria camp on Lesvos island burned down. 13.000 asylum seekers and refugees slept on the ground for days. Following these events, the EU commission presented a New Pact of Migration and Asylum on the 23trd of September. Instead of finally presenting an actual humanitarian solution this pact is only a justification of putting even stronger borders and establishing a new dehumanizing system based on exclusion and deportation of refugees.
The so-called “New Pact on Migration and Asylum” presented by the EU Commission in September comes as a slap in the face of asylum seekers and refugees still suffering violence and injustice along our borders.

WHEN & WHERE
We are going to set up a camp by putting tents on the Neude. There will be a 24 hour program where we will provide a platform for refugees and citizens to share their stories.
YOU can also let your voice be heard and show your solidarity by:
1. Stand with us and register for a timeslot to join the protest (link will follow)
2. Share your message in a video (link will follow)
3. Join the protest with your tent or contact the organisation to see where can help (send a message to MiGreat via Facebook or mail to sofie@migreat.org)

Read and share our statement and join our protests on 15th-16th November. Our wave of solidarity will continue to grow.
